Role Overview:
Join Windmill as an Engineering Manager, where you will be entrusted with leading and mentoring a dynamic team of engineers. As a key figure, you’ll drive innovative solutions in the Health, Finance, and Enterprise sectors, blending your technical prowess with leadership acumen to spearhead projects and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Growth:
- Lead and nurture the engineering team.
- Handle recruitment, mentorship, and career progression.
- Advocate a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Strategic Project Oversight:
- Engage with stakeholders for project clarity.
- Ensure project execution aligns with quality and timelines.
- Mitigate risks and realign resources as required.
Technical Direction & Innovation:
- Guide the team with technical expertise and best practices.
- Stay updated with trends, especially in Health, Finance, and Enterprise sectors.
Inter-departmental Synergy:
- Collaborate with multiple departments for a unified product approach.
- Foster communication across teams.
Operational Excellence:
- Elevate processes and introduce automation.
- Advocate modern engineering methodologies.
OKR Leadership:
- Oversee Objectives and Key Results within engineering.
- Align technical objectives with Windmill’s mission.
Communication & Feedback Loops:
- Organize team meetings and 1-on-1s for alignment and feedback.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or related field.
- Proficiency in Java, full-stack technologies, and database systems.
- Experience in Agile methodologies and tools such as Git.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with testing paradigms and CI/CD.
- User-centric approach.
